The lead was kind of abrupt in my opinion. Mabe make it a little less loud just a tad.

The cymbals are also kind of annoying. I would maybe fix that a little. These melodies though amaze me and sound so wonderous. I love them and i would maybe even remix this if i had time :)
1:14, same deal its too abrupt and needs to be adjusted. That end was very good too with that rising synth but maybe just put the resonance down a tad.

Overall loved it, just those mastering parts kind of bugged me a little, thats all :)

Thanks for the advice, it is always nice to hear peoples opinions. Ill be sure to keep that in mind when i release the full version ;). And i would be honored to have you remix my song :D

1:03 was kind of weird how it changed the key but i still loved it. What did you use for this?

Nimble responds:

In terms of score,I used:
Celesta
Vibraphone
Piano
Tub. Bells
Timpani

I used Finale 2012 for both scoring/mixing.

Reduce the reverb on the intro a bit it makes it too muddy. The lead is beautiful though.

Bass is simple but it works. I would use something a little deeper but it works. From the chorus, there should be a breakdown like a simple white noise but that is just me. I like what you did with the snare too. Reminds me i should stop being lazy on my beats XD

Everything from there is cool though 2:34 is a bit muddy. Reduce the volume on those chords maybe .

Nice little clip here. You should try to maybe add some variation in synths to make it a bit more interesting.

johnfn responds:

Thanks man. I think you hit on a lot of things that were kinda surfacing in my mind. Happy you liked the beat - some guys were commenting on my old song that my beats needed some variation, so I decided to make a more complex pattern here. I really need to work on muddiness next.

The lead is a bit too loud. The choirs are decent though and the gate is a nice touch.

Lower the lows on the bass a bit.

Reali-tGlitch responds:

Overall I myself am pleased with how it turned out. Except that I know the drums could use a little work. I might just go back and tweak it a little.

Mastering top notch, tasty bass and snare, and smooth pads. Deserves a good score :)

yotipo91 responds:

Thanks!

Ok first, i wouldn't label this dance because of the beat. More like hip hop almost. 2nd, i would use something else instead of that detuned saw. I would maybe turn that trance saw an octave up but thats just me.

00:59 is a bit messy. I would maybe turn that the reverb or echo a bit. 1:25 that tranistion is good. You just need like a cymbal crash then it would feel a little more proper. Then 1:53 you have a bit too much again. I don't know how though you could fix this. Maybe lower the volume on some of the instruments? I don't know but it feels like everything is clashing.

In general though the melodies and instruments (minus that one detunred one) sound fantastic :D

Thanks for your review! This song will be going into an album, so all the criticism will be perfect for when I fix it up. Well this couldn't go into the hiphop section, I know its your opinion, but mine is that it's too electronic for hiphop. Sure, dance probably isn't the best selection, but neither were the other electronic genres... I wish there was a genre on here mainly for regular Electronic. Thanks again for your review and I'll keep you in mind when I fix all of the flaws.

What did you use? It sounds crystal clear :)

Ultraconsole responds:

I just whipped this up in FL studio!
If you know how to mess with the settings, and know what plugins to use, you can make some really impressive sounding stuff with it.
Though I did just buy a sick Lyre online! (Hand harp thing that Sheik uses)
I figure if I can play piano, I can play a Lyre haha

The melodies seem kind of random but this is still good overall. Btw, nexus or no?

Rdwilson responds:

Yes I used Nexus I love using it so much

How are you able to have this much ambience without making it so muddy? I( have the hardest time with that and yet i don't hear any mud (could be my headphones though).

tijnn responds:

There's no magic button to doing that... It comes with experience. Keep making music, and you will discover a lot of new things along the way :)

Same i hate it when i have to shorten my names. Very dancy track though i could turn down the reverb and echo a bit since i hear alot of muddiness. Good song though. Geussing you use fl studio?

Downwierd responds:

Thanks for the feedback. Yeah I do use FL studio as a matter of fact. I guess i did go a little crazy on the reverb on this track, especially on the snare drum, I kinda wanted to get a swooshing effect to it. Glad you liked the song anyway, cheers!
